Newborns are active and eager seekers of new experiences and knowledge. Their only limit is that of mobility. By placing mobiles in their sightline, we provide opportunities to stimulate the child’s senses. When grasping or kicking mobiles are placed within reach, children can practice their motor control, especially aiding in the development of their hands. As children’s hand muscles develop, they are able to manipulate auditory experiences by shaking rattles, ringing bells, and eventually turning the key on a music box. All of the objects presented below have a specific purpose.
